The dictionary defines furniture as either a single piece, or collectively, items in a room which enhance the room’s characteristics, either functionally and/or decoratively.
Ideally speaking, when someone mentions the word furniture, both the aesthetic element and the functional element are combined in the concept. So, anybody in the furniture business has to keep the two elements as being indivisible expectations of their customers.
Be it furniture for the living room or the dining room, both open for viewing by people other than the residents, or for the bedroom not open generally to visitors, what people who purchase furniture expect is a combination of the two elements. After all, why not aesthetics, for one’s own pleasure too?
