This waterproof MP3 player I found is on sale at a 25% discount. Down from $80 it is now available for just 60 dollars. It fastens to a belt or a buckle with the help of its clip and the twist and lock earphones jack seals out water completely.  With a 6 to 8 hour play time, and weight of less than an ounce, this one has a visible multi colored LED mode control, which makes it a fairly desirable gadget in my view.

Now if you are an Apple fan (I confess I am a diehard iPod fan) you may want to look at this Waterproof iPod Shuffle 4^th generation.  Come rain, sweat or chlorinated water, this one promises to let you keep your music playing on. This one is down from the list price of 180 dollars and costs 160 dollars offering a modest 11% discount and clips to the goggles and has a 15 hour battery life and 2 GB memory. But be warned – the earphones are not included in the deal and you have to buy those separately.

Now supposing you already have a fine music player and for reasons best known to you (you may well have spent ages organizing your music and don’t want to undergo the hassle again, for instance) you don’t want another. Well in that case you can get yourself Waterproof iPod Case and Headphones Pack. The case protects your iPod against the water and still lets you operate your music player through the player. There is an aqua clip that acts as the closure system and it fits all MP3 players.

So you can buy a whole new system, or just the phones or the phones and water proof pack – take your pick!

Like I always say, if there is anything better than a discount it has be freebies! And since I discovered the internet radio or streaming audio I have a terrific source of free music listening and access to stations that I can modify, skip, and search for at will. Since I spend a lot of time on the net, I always have some or other music streaming the background and I thought that those of my readers who are not already aware of these sites could gain from this knowledge.

Just a little note of caution here – if you have a limited internet plan, or the sort that you pay for depending upon the amount of downloading or internet use in terms of megabytes or gigabytes, then audio streaming is not the thing for you – an unlimited plan is best. Also, if you still have that anachronism, the dial up modem and you don’t have broadband then this is also no use for you.

My favorite such site for audio streaming is Jango.com. You can select the genre of music, the artiste, and even create your own stations according to your personal preferences. Also when you do an artiste music search, you also get a bunch of options for videos of the artist you may want to watch and a short artist bio. What I like most about sites such as Jango is the fact that you don’t have to listen to any song that you don’t like, you can simply skip that track. The audio player is built into the site’s page so you don’t get a pop out player.

Radio Tower is another site I recommend, that offers all the genres (I am currently listening to some 70’s tracks and the song playing right now is Country Roads). Here you can pick the country you’re in and then play songs according to the language you want to listen to. some stations have a pop up station that will play the music you choose or will use Real Player, windows media player or Winamp (whichever one you pick) to play the music.

I have now switched to listening to the Salsa Stream (Latin) from the site Shoutcast.com, which is playing a lively, lovely track that I never heard before, but which is making me want to get up and dance! A neat little audio player at the bottom of the page can also be made to pop out if you want. You can stop but there did not seem to be the option of skipping.

So go ahead and enjoy these free music listening resources; as I do. All the time!

Now I know that I will get pretty much any music that I want for free over sites such as Limewire etc., however I wanted to do the right thing and actually buy the music making sure that the artists that I love so much get the royalty which is their due.

IMHO, the 99 cents that iTunes charges per song is very steep especially considering that I already bought the music before (albeit on cassettes). Now this site I found to be very reasonable, all the old albums that I want are available here for a dollar or two or for 15 cents per song. I checked, this site claims to be fully legal and all royalties due are paid by the site. So I wanted Dark side of the Moon, the Pink Floyd album which is available here for just $1.08! I checked out a lot of other albums that I have only got on cassette right now: Jethro Tull’s Heavy horses, Sting’s Nothing like the sun, The Beatles’ SGt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and they were all there! I cannot wait to start downloading, just for one hitch: there is no PayPal option offered here, so I need to use my credit card.

I will freely confess that it was not a discount or anything of the sort that convinced me to buy it, just the fact that I thought that the phone I got was good value for money and feature packed and so pretty! I can’t help it; I love red, and the phone felt really nice in my hands! Besides I am brand loyal to Nokia, I have owned a Nokia for the past 4 years, and love its logical and easy navigation.

So now I am on a quest for some mobile phone accessories, so I thought I would do a general survey of mobile phone accessories available.

Here, I found cell phone accessories at a discount and arranged according to the model and make. This blue tooth head set which I have my eye on is available for 95.99, down from $119.99. This one has mute and volume control and also includes a travel charger.

Now my new phone has memory expandable up to 4 GB (the internal memory is only 30 MB) so it would be logical to expand it to that. That way I could really put the 2 MP camera thru its paces and load my fave music without having to worry about space. Now I will have to ask my significant other to find out about compatibility issues but this 4 GB memory card I can get myself for $61.99 which is down from $ 99.99.

One other cell phone accessory that I really want is a nice and nifty carrying case. I found these cases to be rather expensive though, the one pictured here costs 44.99 which is way too steep for something that I can basically do without.

This cheap and cheerful little one at Amazon is more the ticket for me, costs a modest 5.95 and can be clipped on to my jeans for convenience.

Well wish me joy of my new cell and any and all the accessories that I may decide to get for it.

I actually remember when I was in school and Michael Jackson won a record number of Grammys for his album Thriller, which was a top selling album and recently when I was listening to the unbeatable pop song Beat It! I was quite swamped with nostalgia! And I know that Thriller is the best selling album of all time, so I was curious to find out which were the top five selling albums of all time.

Say what you will about MJ, but he is the King of pop and he remains enthroned to this day, with his chart buster Thriller far and away the highest selling album of all time! The album has sold a whopping 108 million copies according to some estimates! No other album has sold even half as many! Great album IMHO.

Next is AC/DC’s Back In Black which has sold 42 million copies. I never listen to AC/DC so I won’t comment.

I was surprised to see that Whitney Houston’s (and other’s) OST The Bodyguard has sold as many albums, also 42 million; surprised but pleased! Whitney was at her sublime best in that album, with songs like And I will always love you and Don’t make me close one more door showcasing her tremendous range and vocal power.

Next with 41 million albums is Greatest Hits of the iconic Eagles. Their songs are all that is wonderful about rock music: great rhythms, great melodies, and just fabulous songs. Songs like Tequila Sunrise and Take it Easy are the stuff of legend!

Saturday Night Fever was an album we scorned when we were growing up because it was Disco, but as an adult I simply love those songs, Stayin Alive and How Deep Is Your Love are like all time fave Karaoke tracks!

I know this was supposed to be a top five list, but when No 6 is another one of my all time favorites, I had to include it: Pink Floyds’ iconic, revolutionary album The Dark Side of the Moon has also sold 40 million albums. What songs! Words fail me!

Now my source for the above numbers is Wiki, but I found a couple of other lists which I wanted to mention here: Rolling Stone’s definitive top 500 list, I was relieved to see a lot of my beloved Beatles albums mentioned and Ask Men has an interesting top 200 list with genre based top albums. Feel free to express your views about your fave albums too.

I tried a different tack this time; I thought I would search for specific freebies: first I tried out free music. I’m talking legal music downloads not limewire and bootlegs. This site, has some cool music on offer; within seconds I had this nice track from the Buddha Lounge, but you need to buy most of the stuff. The Gibson Guitars site also has a quite extensive list of stuff you can download, but most of the stuff I found a little underwhelming. There is of course the famous Radiohead initiative where they gave their complete album for free download. Check out the remixed album here. There are other sites to be sure but they require registration.

Then I saw this advert for free Ben & Jerry ice cream cone sample! And I simply love Ben & Jerry’s ice creams, especially their out there flavors, so I really perked up but was rapidly crestfallen: that offer was for only one day: 29 April. Ah well, there is always next year.

Then there are Walmart freebies (I can see you’re thinking, finally this is getting interesting): John Frieda collection sample! Wonderful! I clicked on the get your sample link and Presto! I got the BROCHURE! You do however get free toothpaste samples and bedwetting shorts samples for the price of a few details and answering a few questions.

Since I love perfume, I thought let’s check out if there were any freebie perfume samples to be had (they spray it on really liberally when you visit any store that sells perfume, so why not samples). Apparently you can get a free Escada sample here for the price of a few personal details, but only if you live in the US, Spain, Germany or France. Here also, you get free samples if you fill in some details and answer some questions.

Be warned though, my skepticism is still rife, so I will trust all these freebie claims when I smell the perfume, so to speak! If you have had good or bad experiences with freebies, do let me know.

I may be a Beatles nut but my fav money song ever, has to be the iconic Money by Pink Floyd. What a song! Contrary to what a lot of people believe, I think Dark side of the Moon is the best Pink Floyd album.

A song that is perhaps my introduction to real rock would be the Dire Straits song from Brothers in Arms, Money for Nothing. Irreverent, humorous and almost self deprecating, this song remains a personal nostalgia piece. Great track!

Since Beatles are my fav band ever, I picked two of their songs (I didn’t pick Cant buy me love) to include in the list: song Money, That’s what I want and Baby you’re a rich man too. The latter is a bizarre song with random lyrics like:
