Computer Accessory Gift Ideas

Folks I am doing some advance planning here, and decided to throw out some ideas for my Christmas shopping. I find that novelty gadgets to enhance our computer operating experience, even the nerdy, geeky ideas, go down really well.

Now this one may not be for everyone but I do know a certain someone who would simply love this roll up wireless keyboard. The sale page for this roll up keyboard informs you that for $17.99 you can get yourself “wireless freedom” with this 2.4 GHz Wireless Flexible MultiMedia Portable Keyboard, which can be rolled up for easy portability making it an ideal portable keyboard for notebook computers.

Belated Gift for Mother’s Day

I’ve gone and forgotten Mother’s Day completely, and now remembering it a month later there is no hope for redemption! My mother has a birthday coming up soon, luckily, so I am going to get her something nice, a sort of combined Mother’s day and birthday gift.

Now we all know grandparents who whip out a wallet or even a photo album at the least provocation and proceed to show even strangers their beloved offspring’s even more beloved offspring, so it goes without saying that anything that features grandkids photos is bound to be a big hit. So this picture tote here, would be an excellent idea in my view. Available in black, khaki or red, it made from cotton canvas with leather trim and has three built-in, round photo frames. Then you can get a few pics developed; the kind she will enjoy, (get a whole bunch done, so that she can change them as and when she wants) and you have a really memorable gift!

Some Risqué and not so Risqué Gift Ideas

Anyone who is a regular reader here will know that I love novelty gifts or any kind of offbeat gifts or ideas and a rather risqué gift I received recently inspired me to do one more post about interesting and unusual gifts.

Now here I found a bunch of really useless but highly entertaining stuff, such as an inflatable Bra bath pillow, some rather creative dice, furry handcuffs etc….

Someone with the right kind of sense of humor will really be amused by this inflatable bra bath pillow. For someone who likes the idea of resting their head on a pair of D cups in the bath! For $4.95, a bit of laugh isn’t it!

Now love dice could be just the thing to light a spark for that little something that went missing in a relationship. These glow in the dark dice, has a bunch of commands (and positions as well in case you are interested) that could just make things very interesting indeed! Priced at just 3.95, well one can certainly afford a bit of slap and tickle…. And there’s also some furry handcuffs ($5 per pair) and some strip tease pens ($3 for men and for women) if you are so inclined.

Tea: A Gift of Warmth

I have recently been reading up a lot of about tea, its health benefits, and it healing nature and getting to like the drink a lot too. Incidentally my significant other loves tea and I think a tea assortment would make a lovely, unusual and classy gift not only for him but for anyone really who enjoys tea and views tea drinking as part of social intercourse rather than the mere consumption of a beverage.  And to be sure tea is not an easy subject to navigate: there is green tea, white tea, black tea, herbal tea, oolong tea, the list is seemingly endless.

At this online tea store I found some lovely tea gift sets, including samplers of different kinds of tea: green, white, black etc., and tea hampers that include a unique tea pot that strains tea for you.

Baby Shower Gift Ideas

A friend is in the family way and I have been wondering what to give her as a baby shower gift. There is a bunch of ideas I had: some item of furniture for the nursery, or an infant toy, a stroller, a playpen, a baby monitor etc. if it is something more expensive I could get together with other friends to pool together and buy. Then asked her what she would like and now it is a tossup between a baby bed and a good diaper bag.

I find a lot of mothers thank the fact that they have a Moses basket or a bassinet. One mother I know carried it around till her baby was over a year old so that she could put her down for a nap anywhere. So I thought this one was really economical for $69.50. The only problem with it of course is that it is outgrown by the baby rather early, so I thought of a cot, which could be used over a longer period of time.

Valentine’s Day Gift Discounts

In my last post we looked at some cheap and cheerful (or rather free) Valentine’s Day gifts, today let’s look at the touch/feel/taste/hug/smell variety of gift. Well the whole chocolates and flowers and soft toy and romantic card routine may be a little clichéd people, but let me tell you it works every time!

Now e cards on Valentine’s day may not be an great idea, but sometimes it may be all that is possible so you may want to take a look here at some cute e cards for Valentine’s day. If you would rather send e roses and not the huggable variety of animation, look here; a plethora of red roses!

Yes I know this is really cheesy, but we girls can be real suckers for the cheesy, mushy variety of gifts sometimes. So take a look at this 1 GB lover’s edition player which is available for the wholesale price of $34.99, down from $48.00 and whatever you say about it, I think it’s cute!

Valentine’s Day Ideas

Yes I know all the reasons why Valentine’s Day should not be such a big deal: after all why should you wait for this one day every year to tell your loved ones how much you love them and what if you don’t have a significant other in your life right now, etc.

But then there are so many reasons that you should celebrate Valentine’s Day: for one it is a good idea to make the extra effort to make a special someone feel special, and any excuse for a celebration is a good excuse, and so what if you don’t have that one special someone in your life, family, friends, any and all dear ones count. Show them that they count, that they mean something to you; be it by deed, word or indeed gift. This post of mine is about all the things that you can give that won’t cost you a thing; just the thing for the recession:

Tips to Save Money During the Holidays

The festive season is the season not only of joy and goodwill to all mankind but also the season of spending. Decorations, parties, gifts and a myriad other reasons to empty our pockets; however this year, with the recession ominously but unequivocally upon us, it may be time to tighten our belts. So I combed the internet looking for the best ways to save money these holidays.

There were some great ideas contributed by the readers of the site themselves. One suggestion was to exchange gifts in January instead of at the actual holiday so that one can take advantage of post holiday sales and also you are not so stressed getting gifts just ahead of Christmas. Another reader suggested giving the New Year party a miss in favor or calling some friends over for a contributory meal where everyone listens to music, plays games and has a better time than if they had gone on to a big public place and spent a bunch of money. And if someone is on a really tight budget, you can get books for $1 or $2 at local friends-of-the-library book sales to give as gifts.

Festive Gifts (Part II)

The festive season is the season of giving and I believe that it should be about giving not only to those whom we love and cherish but also to those who are less privileged than us. If you can make a stranger smile with your thoughtfulness then you have indeed got into the true festive spirit! You can donate money or even time to a charity or a worthy cause.

One idea that we had, and which we plan to put into practice this festive season is to buy toys at wholesale prices to distribute among foster homes and/or schools for the underprivileged. We have not got the details worked out yet, but we were thinking toys such as those available here, some outdoor game toys, some educational aids or board games etc. If you are looking for some nice children’s gifts at good discounts, you may want to take a look here as well.

Festive Discounts

My favorite time of year is coming soon; Christmas. I still remember the excitement of going to bed on Christmas Eve when I was a child; the almost breathless excitement in the anticipation of Santa Claus coming with his bag full of goodies while I slept so that when I woke up there would be all these lovely surprises waiting for me! After all Christmas is all about giving and sharing and gifting, so go forth and shop! If we can find discounts, all the better! And No! It is not cheap to buy discounted gifts, it is merely smart!
