Discount Lingerie

This blog I read regularly, decided to go pink for October because this is breast cancer awareness month. The official pink for October website is urging people to go pink for this month to get people talking about breast cancer, and raise money for research. But to be clear, raising money isn’t the primary purpose of this web event. The hope is that you turn your site pink (in whatever way works for your site), educate yourself about the multiple issues related to Breast Cancer, then take that knowledge and tell someone else what you’ve learned. This is an admirable cause so I am supporting it in my own small way!

So I thought to myself what post about discounts and good deals can I possibly do that is related to this issue? Well the closest I could come up with is lingerie, after all it is that which supports and enhances our er… womanly assets.

I loved these Boyfriend straight jeans in stretch for $39.50 in dark blue (the best color for denim ever). Team the jeans with this banded tank top for $11 from Go Jane, (visit this page to take a look at some really affordable but smart items for under $25) and then add a smart pair of shoes such as these stylish red shoes for $39 and you have a pretty stylish, go anywhere ensemble which can take you clubbing, and intimate dinner date, or anything. Now how great is this pencil skirt at $9.99 down from $38, made from Polyester/rayon/spandex, I think it is a must have for every girl’s wardrobe. And this is a real good section to take a good long look at; the $9.99 page. It has some really super clothes all under ten bucks.

Custom T-shirts

If you guys remember, I had recently done a post on discounted t-shirts. Lets go a step ahead and look at custom t-shirts today. Now I’m sure everyone would love to wear custom t-shirts showing off their picture, or their favorite quote or a graphic designed by them. There are many places where you can get tees customized just for you.

I am Banksy t shirtI found this blog about custom t-shirt design. It covers the marketing aspects of selling t-shirts online as well. There is a great post on how to set up your own custom t-shirt company. As expected, t-shirts related to current events are very popular at any given time. So the Obama t-shirts are a rage in America right now as are the I am Banksy t-shirts in the UK.

I know this really cool t-shirt site that holds T shirt design contests and I like the designs that they come up with. I like t shirts in general because they are casual, cool, and comfortable and they are such a great way to make a statement about your attitude! And you know what I like even more? T shirts on discount of course! So let us search for the ideal t shirt today: funny, cool, smart, and intelligent and most importantly AT A DISCOUNT!

Cigarette t shirtPrank place.com has a really funny collection of tees with this nice clearance section here. I loved this one that says, “Why don’t you stick that cigarette up your ass? Fashion Industry: Who’s The Most Influential and Powerful

With the legendary YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) passing on to the great fashion runway in the sky, I got to thinking which are names that inspire awe in the world of fashion, who rules the roost and who is the most influential? That, and I finally saw the Devil Wears Prada so my interest in the fashion industry was piqued.

The Olsen TwinsWhile I could not find a definitive top ten list like the one Forbes compiles I found a pretty good compilation by Time here, which named Rose Marie Bravo, of Burberrys as number one among women in fashion, followed by Miucchia Prada and then Anna Vintour editor in chief of Vogue. The list also includes the Olsen twins whose line of ‘tween’ clothing marketed thru Walmart is a runaway success. The list also names Delphine Arnault, board member of Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan, whose label DKNY is one of the most visible and recognizable fashion names anywhere. [Read more →]

Summer-wear: Swimwear

If summer is here can beach outings and pool parties be far behind? And if you, like a lot of other people have been trying to get into shape for the summer, flaunt your newly toned body in some great swimwear available online.

There are a lot of online options and if you want to go in for discounted swimwear most online stores have a clearance section, which I usually make a beeline for, as is my wont. If, like Oprah, you are chary of showing off your midsection, skip the bikinis and take a look at the tankinis (tank top and bikini bottom) or the one piece maillot styles.

Green swimming costumeI found Swimmer’s Choice to have a good range of products, most of which I found to be quite reasonable. They deal in Speedo, TYR and Dolphin brands, and I am a bit of a Speedo loyalist I have to confess, with their smart, no frills designs. I liked this one piece at $28.95, they have a wide range of items for under $30. Their range of trunks for men and children are also reasonably priced. Their clearance section was empty.

Halter tankini swimwearIn style swimwear has an extensive clearance section with some nice varieties, some a little daring for me but I liked this halter tankini with a side tie bottom, which are sold separately ($57 for both).

Wanna Look Like a Celebrity?

Often think how much money celebrities spend on looking the way they do? The clothes they wear, the accessories that they carry, all cost a bomb! No wonder we can’t look the way they do! But do you really have to dress expensive to dress smart? I think with some wherewithal and a little investigating you can find places to buy that which looks like it could be a designer item, but isn’t! Call them knock-offs, copies, lookalikes, replicas or call them ‘inspired by’, whatever way you look at it, it is well worth checking out the possibilities.

Pleated dress Check out this very red-carpet-looking pleated neck tie dress for $29.99 or a smart little black dress for $49.99 at High Maintenance. I liked their inexpensive collection of tops as well. They have some nice distressed denim skirts, camouflage pants and capris too.

Red leather bagIf, like me you like handbags, then check out this site which stocksClutch bag ‘designer inspired’ handbags. I thought some of their leather handbags, like this one, were quite smart. Some of their clutches I found to be rather busy, but some like this one, were quite stylish.

Mother of Pearl watchIf you like bling, It’s Alot Alike is the place to go. I admit that I am not a bling person, but I really liked this mother of pearl cuff watch for $25. They have plenty of other items claiming to be inspired by designer bracelets, rings, necklaces and a lot of other stuff.

Red bagFashion heaven is a site that stocks ‘designer alternative’ bags, sunglasses and discount bridal accessories. They have some very neat bags in their clearance section, such as this red handbag.

Prom DressOh and just by the way, because proms (and obviously prom dresses because it is ALL about the dress) seem to be on a lot of minds, I thought I would also take a look to see what I could find. At shopshop.com, there is quite an extensive and reasonably priced selection. The prom dress shop has an extensive collection of designer and designer-like dresses. Fairy godmother has a selection, some of which I found to be a little risqué, even tarty.

So if you are planning to go shopping soon, I hope I have given you all some food for thought!
