Yard Implements for Kids
There is this young nephew I have, who is a real outdoorsy kind and who is due to get a major present from me (it’s a deal that we made a while back but that is another story). In any case I think it is a great idea for kids to spend more time out of doors and away from TVs, computers, X boxes and other electronic equipment. So I had the following ideas – do share your own:
This Disc Swing I thought was a terrific idea – just attach it to any tree branch and you’re ready to swing; literally! Made from durable plastic, it comes with 10 feet of rope. This is just the sort of thing that the little guy would love – if he got tired of swinging he can do a spot of climbing! And at under 18 dollars for the thing, I think it’s great!
The disc swing would be a bit of a cheapie gift though, and I had to find something to add to this. An adjunct to the swing, could be this 2 person, biker / hiker tent – it could be his little domain in the yard where he carries out secret activities or organizes sleepovers for his close buddies. I just know that he will like this tent and I like it too at just $24.35 which is at a discount; down from 28 dollars.
This geometric dome climber play center is something else that I liked and which I thought junior would appreciate as well. This is a good idea because it is an activity that several friends (up to 6 kids) could get together to play. And also it “provides exciting, imaginative, and challenging play for young people that helps them develop strength, coordination, spatial awareness, and balance while they have fun” says the sale page.
Now I don’t know a single kid who doesn’t enjoy jumping and bouncing around. This enclosed 14 foot trampoline and enclosure set and the trampoline is going to be fun and offers safety as well since it protects the child from falling off accidentally. It seems to me that there is some amount of assembly required to be done with this, and that is just another plus – because that will be yet another enjoyable project for the little guy. This is something that I have to think long and hard about, though because it is extremely steep at over three hundred and fifty dollars.
