The Offensive Israeli

Over the past few weeks I have been watching the Israel Gaza conflict unfold, in horror and in indignation: horror at what Israel was doing and indignation that no one in the world was doing anything to stop it. I feel indignant at the nonchalant way in which Israel creates incursions into territory that is not its own, attacks with impunity and kills with utter brutality with no regard for whether it was a child that was killed or a hospital that was bombed. The current ceasefire has done little to undo the harm done.

Home Accents: Ideas and Deals

Pieces of furniture, wall colors etc ., even if not very remarkable, can be offset by a few individual and even quirky touches here and there to make a interesting and unusual whole. A few interesting home accents can enhance your home by making it unique and giving it your own personal stamp. A little wall art here a whimsical garden ornament there, can do a lot to give your home character.

I think it is a great idea to have some greenery inside the home or perhaps on the porch, for this it is a good idea to get a matched set of planters, such as this one here; a metal planter set of three for just $50. I also liked this set of two planters, tall and elegant for $79.

Furniture Discounts

I know that Amish made furniture is not cheap, but when you look at the fact that it is built to last, and never seems to go out of style, it does make a lot of sense to buy. Especially if there is a sale on! I came across this site that has up to 33% off on their items of furniture and I found a lot of stuff there which I really liked:

This bedroom set includes a queen size contemporary bed, a dresser with mirror and a chest of drawers that is admittedly very steep at upward of $5000, but they do offer a hefty $1,176 discount, so that it is yours for $3,918. Yes I know, still not cheap; but if you are looking to make a life time investment in your furniture, then this is the sort of thing that you may just want to consider.

MP3 Music

I am dematerializing all my music (I’m not sure if that term applies only to stocks and bonds or also to music); that is to say that I want to transfer all my CDs and all the music that I have on my computer to my iPod. That way I have absolutely all my music is one place and immediately accessible. Simple enough till there but then I also have loads of audio cassettes (yes I still have all the ones that I have been collecting since my first Beatles tape that I bought at age 12); so how do I demat them; or digitize them or whatever? So I went on a quest to find cheap MP3 downloads from around the net to replace all of the stuff on cassette with digital music for my iPod.

Good Deals on Hair Products

The last time I did a post about hair care products was a long time back and I got a great response from my readers so I thought I would do a post about hair products again. I also wanted to do a hair post because the winter does awful things to my hair and it requires extra care and attention during the cold season; this I am sure is true for a lot of you out there?

Well one of the things that I have been meaning to get myself is a hair straitening device. Don’t get me wrong; I love my curls, but it is a great thing to straighten my hair occasionally just for a change; and it does make me look a wee bit glamorous, even if I do say so myself! So I liked this Wet to Dry Straightener which is available at a pretty good discount, at $112.50 down from $150. Then there was also this slim type heating iron (moist) for just $74.99 down from 139.99 which I thought was a great deal!

New Year Resolutions to Help You Save Money

They say that New Year resolutions, made with such a firmness of purpose rarely last beyond the month of January. But they also say that well begun is half done; if you do make any resolutions, persist with them and then you will see results for sure! I don’t generally make any resolutions, simply decide to do some things differently in the coming year than I did earlier. So this year I plan to….

Ride my bike more: I am going to ride the bike to go to the store to get things, and run other errands. This will help me two fold, I will use the car less and thus save me a lot in terms of fuel. It will also help me to get a nice little work out since I often find myself so strapped for time that I can’t go for walks the way I like to do.
