Green Gifts

Do you recycle? Well I do and let me tell you, it gives me a lot of satisfaction! To know that you try to do your bit for the environment is a good feeling! And I don’t think I mentioned it before, but I recently bought me an electric scooter and I love, love, love it! Electric vehicles are such a green thing too!

Glow in teh dark BulbThis Glow-in-the-dark light bulb encased in a solid acrylic brick, is charged by absorbing light during the day and releasing it at night. It is not cheap at $30.99 but since it uses no electricity or anything it does kind of pay for itself.

Staple-free staplerHere is a stapler with a difference, a staple free stapler. This unique little gadget cuts out tiny strips of paper to attach up to three sheets of paper, it does not use staples so you will never run out again! Costs $7.99.

Global warming mugIf you need something to give you a daily reminder about global warming and climate change, this is just the ticket. For $12.98 this global warming mug works like this: when you pour hot liquid in it the water rises, bringing attention to the cause! Good one; after all ocean levels are rising, glaciers and ice caps are melting!

ComposterDid you know an average family can save as much as one ton of garbage a year from the landfill just by using a compost bin or compost barrel? Composting is a really green and earth-friendly option. A good composter will keep odors down and animals out! It is also a great and free way to fertilize your garden. I took a cursory look at composters, and I liked this one here for $139.

Bamboo productsBambu.com is a place where they sell some lovely stuff, all made from bamboo, one of the fastest growing sources of wood. Therefore it makes a lot of environment sense. They have utensils, cutting boards, laquerware, baskets, spa items and other stuff; all well worth a look.

Another site that is a green shopping guide is this one, which gives a whole lot of information about things made from recycled materials. Items include house and home, clothing and jewelry, pet items, toys and sports items, garden and outdoor things and business gifts as well. Beautiful and interesting stuff, not necessarily bargain though, I have to warn you!

So go green, it feels (and looks) good!

  19. Solar outdoor lighting is a great way to help lower your electric bill but still be able to have the outdoor
lighting that helps light the way to and around our homes. The outdoor path lighting is the most common of the home outdoor solar lighting.
