So when I filled in a New York zip code I was redirected to this site which has coupons related to all manner of items: clothes, food and dining, groceries, home and garden, health, books, pets, travel, sport etc.

Restaurant discount couponsRestaurant.com is a site that helps you find rebates on eating out. By feeding your zip code, you find a restaurant of your choice within the given radius (one to thirty miles etc). You can also purchase and give dining out gift certificates, for $10 you get a $25 gift certificate. You can buy, customize and email or print and personally gift a certificate from this site.

Registering here claims to gives you access to over 70 deals and over $150 in savings! Sample offers on this site include, savings on frozen vegetables, buy a chocolate bar and get one free etc. This site offers links to all kinds of grocery coupons for little savings: $1 off on turkey bacon, $5 off on a floral bouquet etc. Cool savings is also a site devoted to saving you money, which will send you daily emails about their offers. Walmart, Betty Crocker, Target, Pampers are some of the brands that they offer coupons for. So next time you go shopping, remember to print some coupons and take along with you!

Printer Cartridges at Unbelievable Prices

I exhausted my HP printer ink cartridge today. So, of course, the bargain hunter that I am, I decided there just has to be a better option than buying cartridges from HP or BestBuy at their price. I chanced upon a really great website.

This website can help any office or home owner with a good use for their printer a lot of money. InkjetDeals.info lists a number of stores that sell good quality Inkjet cartridges at a small fraction of the cost of the original. To top that, they also provide coupon and discount codes for these stores that help you avail an even lower price. You could get a further discount or save on shipping. So overall, you could get an ink cartridge that is as good at about 20 - 30% of the price of the original.

I found the best code for myself. An All Ink Coupon Code giving a 15% discount on any order of any amount. That’s the one I used to order my stock.

Another plus is their section on Printer related articles where they give you Ink Saving Tips and help with Troubleshooting Printers. For instance, did you know that when the cartridge is apparently empty, you should take it out and sway it a bit? This helps you use the last bit of ink. I tried it with my printer cartridge (the one I had exhausted) and it did print some more pages before dying out completely. They also have a section telling you about the top 6 brands of printers.

The Six Word Memoir

In his post Plan for tomorrow, live for today, Derek Semmler tagged me with this interesting game, and here are the rules:

So I thought for a bit, what is my six word memoir? What is the mantra that I live my life by? The answer is I can’t choose just one! Derek, I don’t know if this is allowed but I want several six word memoirs! As when I am faced with several good choices when shopping, I want it all. And so it is with my six word memoir, I can’t just choose one and so here goes:

I don’t take myself too seriously: No one else seems to J! Seriously, though I think there is a lot of merit in not taking yourself too seriously, that way you retain a sense of humor in most situations and don’t allow problems to get to you so much. It’s rather like my fave track by the Eagles, Take it Easy, Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy”

Life is Short, Don’t hate anyone: There are so many wonderful things to do in the world, so many wonderful people, so many beautiful places to go to in the limited time that we have on this earth. Why waste any of that time hating anyone? Hate is a corrosive and destructive emotion, indifference is less so, but it is more insulting to the opposite person J.

The best is yet to come: I am the eternal optimist; I genuinely believe that life is only going to get better. People are going to wisen up and stop living wasteful and polluting lifestyles; global warming and climate changes will reverse. There will be peace and prosperity all over the world; war will cease. I will be rich and famous! Hmmm if you think that sounds a bit like la la land, well that’s just me! I like to view the world thru rose colored spectacles! There is enough despair and hopelessness in the world without me adding to it.

And this is my picture, one of spring because Spring is all about new beginnings, rejuvenation!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

This post may be a bit late because Mother’s day was two days back. It maybe a bit late to actually start looking for a gift to give or send your mother. But what is the surprise in giving a gift when it is expected? Instead send it some days later and really surprise her ;). Okay, thats a lame excuse, but since I’m running a bit late this time, that’s the one I’m gonna stick to. Personally I think flowers and candy are just a little bit passé, and they don’t really last for any length of time, so better bet is to get her something that is more permanent and which will remind her for a longer time of what a good son or daughter you are.

If your mother is the type who whips out the pictures of the kids to show to all and sundry she will love this!

Kids Shoes BronzingOne idea that grandmothers seem to love is if you bronze their grandchild’s shoes for them. Baby shoe bronzing allows you to celebrate and remember your child’s first experiences in a unique way and it makes a super gift for Grandma! Apparently this process is available in bronze, pewter, gold, porcelain, and silver, and for items other than shoes as well. You can get shoes bronzed here for $39.95 and for an additional $7 you can get the shoes personalized with the child’s name and date of birth! This is a wonderful idea and if I were a grandmother, I would be moved to tears by this lovely idea.

Amazon has some great ideas for mother’s day. They have patio furniture, solar birdbath fountain and garden lanterns for outdoorsy mom, a really good collection of stuff for chef mom, some very elegant items for entertainer mom, tasteful things for decorator mom, and even some very innovative and unusual stuff for trendy mom and mom who has it all! Go on take your pick; you are the best person to decide what your mother would like!
